NFS Underground Tournament 2025 Begins - Prize Money on the Line

The RRP NFS Underground Tournament is back - and for the first time ever, there's real money to win.
Only nine players signed up this year, but the lineup is still packed with skill.
Some familiar names didn't return, but those who did are ready to fight.

With fewer drivers, the path to the top is shorter - but the pressure is higher than ever.

The bracket is set:

1st Round:

  • FiNN vs. Marchiii

2nd Round:

  • Ravage vs. winner of FiNN vs. Marchiii
  • Tapwata vs. Yousuf
  • JuAnChOcNarg vs. ScorpioNNN
  • Carter vs. Redhair

And here's the big news:
Thanks to a passionate supporter of the NFSU community
the top 3 players will receive cash prizes via PayPal, handed out by Redhair, the operator of NFS.onl:

1st place: 50 €
2nd place: 30 €
3rd place: 20 €

A symbolic reward - but a clear sign that this game still matters.

Let the tournament begin. No excuses. No second chances. Who will take the crown?

Gamer Uses Real Honda CR-V as Controller for NFS Underground

YouTuber mryeester connected his 2012 Honda CR-V to a laptop via USB and uses Python
scripts to read real-time sensor data from the car's onboard diagnostics (OBD2) port.

The gas pedal controls acceleration in Need for Speed Underground by sending throttle data to the game.
Steering input from the real steering wheel is integrated but requires a more complex setup, explained in a longer video.

This setup works by reading sensor data such as throttle position from the car's OBD2 port.
A Python library processes the data and translates it into game input.

NFS Underground Big Box - The Holy Grail for Collectors?

Need for Speed: Underground is now over 20 years old, and the English Big Box edition
has become a true collector's item. Complete copies in excellent condition are very rare.

These can sometimes be found on eBay with high price tags - between €300 and €500 (approximately $320 to $540 USD).
Cheaper versions appear occasionally but usually show heavy wear or are missing parts.

For any true NFS Underground fan, owning a Big Box in mint condition is like having the Holy Grail.
Personally, I'd hesitate to spend that much, but it would be amazing to add one to my NFS collection.

For comparison: a NFS High Stakes Big Box in good condition cost me about €80 a few years ago -
but Underground is definitely a different level right now.

Check out current listings here: https://ebay.us/m/BVncEX

Warning: Prices change frequently on marketplaces like eBay,
so what you see today might be different tomorrow. Keep that in mind when checking listings.
